Sync contacts between Microsoft Outlook and Gmail
GO Contact Sync is a tool that syncs your contacts between Microsoft Outlook and Google Mail, it removes the hassle of entering details more than once. It supports contact categories and contact photos so your contacts will look exactly the same. There are a few sync options to suite your needs and it can all be done automatically, so it can be used as a backup tool.
Features
Synchronizes your contacts between Microsoft Outlook and Google Mail.
Supports contact categories and contact photos.
Multiple sync options to suite your needs.
Automatic sync.
Benefits
Removes the hassle of entering your contacts more than once.
Can be used as a backup tool.
Limitations
When using GO Contact Sync with Microsoft Office 2003, Office will ask for permission to access your address book when synchronization begins.
If two synchronized contacts have different photos, i.e the Google contact’s photo is different from the Outlook contact’s photo, their photos will not be synchronized.

This software is garbage….Does not work with Vista/Outlook 2007…stay away!

very true…when you add contacts to outlook, says contacts not matched to gmail…what’s the point of this software if it can’t add contacts on either and update in both? It’s only useful if you make changes to contacts that are in both gmail and outlook….total waste of time and energy.

Worked for me, but it provides no status update at all. You tell it to sync and it appears that nothing happens. I logged into gmail to check and noticed that the contacts were indeed synced.
Also sync button is greyed out in app for some reason. I had to trigger the sync via the tray icon.
Running Windows 7/Office 2007.

also you need to run this as administrator under windows 7 for it to work, or at least I did.

working great for me… the only thing i noticed, in outlook if you create a new contact, and then sync it up, it changes the position of first/last in the contact list in gmail.

Not so sure about this app. At first it worked and I was over the moon but then additional contacts after the first sync will not update. If you try and uninstall the application and reinstall…it remembers your old settings. Nothing worse than an app that ‘doesn’t’ uninstall itself correctly.
Still waiting for a real app to do this…will even pay for it…any recommendations?

Installed on Windows XP Pro PC with Outlook 2007.
Rebooted.
Ran App.
Results window displayed this message:
“Error: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index”
Tried 3x with same result.
BTW, this error message does not help a user determine if this is something that can be fixed/reconfigured locally.
Conclusion: This App does not work.

Hey, great tool to sync all my contacts.
It worked great, until yesterday; now I’m getting all the time this error:
14-6-2010 19:28:49 Error: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
14-6-2010 19:28:49 Sync failed
Hope you can fix this.
Also opening the About window, throws me an exception.

There is an Out Of Index Error with the last version of GO Contact Sync. I slightly modified the source to fix the out of index problem.
So please feel free to test the patched version.

This fits a great need. But it has some problems:
- Seems unable to add contacts, so it does not do what it claims.
- No feedback during sync (GUI thread appears blocked)
Also, it seems rather slow. But the two things above are the biggest issues imho.

Worked just fine with Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit and Office 2010. If the Sync Button is grayed out, it’s because you don’t have a Profile Entered. I onlt sync from Outlook to Google, but that works flawlessly.

Thank you for this extremely useful app.
For me the best way to keep everything synchronized is to use GO Calendar Sync between MS Outlook 2007 and Google Mail. It works perfectly. Then Gmail syncs wiht my Android mobile.
With a great supplement: ‘Google Calendar Sync’ I can keep my calendar entries up to date as well.
With the help of these I have all my contatcs and events synced in Outlook – Google – Mobile

Doesn’t work on Vista with Office 2007, as many people have already said … it seems to want some kind of Proxy setting set up (the Proxy box is red), I am getting the error : “Must set a sync profile. This should be different on each user/computer you sync on.”
I don’t use a proxy, not for anything and nothing else has problems !!!

This worked for me.
Running Windows XP and Outlook 2003.
I did have to get an application specific password to allow this GO Contact Sync to access my contacts on gmail.
See:
http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/static.py?hl=en&guide=1056283&page=guide.cs&answer=185833&rd=3
For more info on Google’s 2-step verification
This password only has to entered the first time GO Contact Sync runs.
I was prompted by outlook to permit GO Contact Sync to access Outlook.
My first time sync then ran flawlessly.

This work great!
would it be possible to be able to put the contacts from outlook that are synced into a specified group in google contacts?
This would be very helpful to be able to toggle the view of the outlook contacts.
Thanks

I was having a problem, something about an Index out of range… I could not solve it until Y tried Soocial, as many told up in this post. The thing is that Soocial is free for a month and after that you have to pay for keep using it,
After Soocial synced all my contacts I tried goContactSync and there was no problem any more, so now I keep using goContactSync wich is free and uninstaled Soocial (it helped me to solve the initial problem)

Worked great for me! Running it on Vista w/ Office 2007. Took maybe five minutes. If you are having issues completing the sync. My question to you is this. Did you add your email account to Outlook before tried to Sync? And if you did, did you do that part correctly? Because this is one of the easy programs I have ever used. Now Outlook on the other hand, could be confusing, if you don’t know what you are doing. I am not trying to put anybody on blast. Just trying to give a little perspective. It is worth checking out, cause this program is to good to give up on because a bad setting with another program.
